The inaugural Pilgrims bike ride was such a success in 2021 its become an annual event to raise money for our charitable foundation to be distributed to the various chairites we support. More information can be found on the Charities in Action page
Against the backdrop of several successful charity rides to Dr Martens (Wollasten) and Church’s (Northampton), the ‘Pattenmakers’ Pilgrims’ took on their most ambitious charity bike ride yet in June 2023 on what felt like the hottest day of that year – a two day ride, from Welwyn Garden City to SATRA Technologies in Kettering; riding back the following day. The riders were supported by Immediate Past Master Sarah Leijten and Sienna Emanuel and covered a total distance of 230kms (142 miles)!
The 2026 bke ride will commence on the morning of 12th September 2026 leaving from St. Margaret Pattens Church in the city of London and we will ride to seafront in Brighton. We are looking to encurage as many riders as possible this year, so we are keeping it to a one day 100Km route to make it a little more accessible.
Its a fun ride, not a race and we would appreciate as many liveryman and their families to join us on the ride, or if you aren’t into cycling do come and support us and see us off at the church, or to join us for a picnic on route (we’ll post more details on the route and our lunch stop or join us by seaside for an ice-cream in the afternoon.
If you want to join us, please do let our lead rider Liveryman Joseph Robertson know and he can be contacted on: josephalanrobertson@icloud.com
Or of course do support us by sponsoring our riders and donating via our JustGiving charity page.
